How do I create a sibling discount?

A sibling discount is one of the most common types of discount – here’s what you need to know

Sibling discounts use the person unit and are used to discount multiple siblings signing up for the same, or for different products.

Progressive sibling discounts

These are the most common – charging less money for each additional sibling.

In this example, the ‘Range minimum’ of 2 means the second child receives 10% off their order. By having no ‘Range maximum’, this will also apply to any additional siblings.

Volume sibling discounts

These would be used to have the discount apply to the total price overall if a parent was to book 2+ children at once.

In this example, if two or more siblings sign up, they each receive a 10% discount on their order.

Note: Progressive and volume discounts behave differently with different settings. For more information see our help article here.

Applying the discount to products

Once your discount is set up, apply it to your products as normal.

If you would like a discount to apply across multiple different products (for example, two siblings are in two different age group classes), apply it as a ‘Multi-product discount’ against the product group (folder) level.

Note: If you’re setting up a discount for the first time, we’d advise getting in touch with us at help@thrive4.com to review the setup before applying it to products.
