How do I pro-rata payments?

You can use pro-rata pricing to ensure customers are charged fairly based on when they sign up. This guide explains how pro-rata pricing works and how to set it up

Pro-rata pricing adjusts the cost of a product based on the portion of the billing period that has passed. For example, if a customer joins halfway through a month, they will only be charged for the remaining half of the month.

Note: If you are charging by the session, then a pro-rata pricing is not needed.

Classes and events are pro-rata’d based on the remaining number of sessions left in the billing period, and memberships based on how much time is remaining (days).

 

How to enable pro-rata pricing:

  • Navigate to Product management > Products
  • Select your product from the left sidebar
  • In ‘Billing’/’Billing and renewal’, enable the setting ‘Pro-rata payments if a person pays part-way through the billing period’
  • Click ‘Save’

Important: If pricing per session, you do not need to use pro-rata.

Pro-rata pricing is not compatible with instalments.
