Team sports: Requesting player availability and creating events

The Teams feature helps you easily schedule upcoming training sessions, matches, and fixtures, and manage who’s attending

Tip: Make sure your teams and squads are set up before creating any events. If you haven’t done this yet, check out our guide here to get started.

 

How to set up an event

Before you can request player availability, you’ll need to set up an event. This could be a fixture, training session, or a general team/squad event. You can schedule training and events for either for a squad or team, just make sure you’ve selected the right one before starting.

Note: Fixtures can only be created for teams, not squads.

    • Navigate to Teams and pick a team or squad from the left sidebar
    • Click into the ‘Events’ tab
    • Click ‘Add event’ in the left sidebar and choose what type of event
    • Enter the start and end date/time
    • Choose whether or not the event will be repeated
    • Optionally, add a venue or add a note
    • Choose whether to notify the players of the new event
    • Click ‘Create’ to finish


Tip: If you don’t want to notify players right away, you can always edit the event later and resend the notification when you’re ready.

How to request player availability for an event:

  • In the ‘Home’ tab of each team and squad you can view all upcoming events
  • Click the three dots on any event
    • From here you can also edit or cancel the event, or send an SMS/email to the players
  • Click ‘View details’
  • Select the players whose availability you wish to request
  • Click ‘Availability’ then ‘Request availability’
  • Click ‘Send’ to email the request


From the event availability interface, you can also mark availability on the players’ behalf, send communications to individual players, or request a one-off payment.

Note: Availability requests are currently sent via email only, but you can follow up with an SMS.
