How do I manage notifications?

This article will explain how to set up and manage notifications, and how to make them work for you

The purpose of notifications is to alert you and your contacts to what's important. If you don't want an email sent out, you can disable it or send it to a different admin. You can also set fixed times for notifications, so users aren’t bombarded with messages all day. Set up additional notifications as you grow and expand your use of the Thrive4 platform, automating messages you'd otherwise be sending manually. Using notifications, you can control:

  • What triggers the system to send an automatic email
  • When the email is sent
  • What template is sent
  • Who they are sent to

Tip: Notifications work in tandem with email templates. For more information on templates and how to create them, see our help article here.

    • This cannot be adjusted, but you can add new notifications for specific actions
  • Timing – when the email is sent in relation to the trigger
    • Immediately - as soon as the action occurs
    • At a specific time (after the action)
    • Custom – specify a number of days before or after a trigger or previous message (options very by notification type)
      • For example, an overdue payment reminder to go out a week after the trigger (invoice not paid) then again after a further 2 days
  • Limit to – only apply the notification to chosen products or schedules. Leave blank to apply to all
  • Recipients – choose if the email is sent to the relevant contact or to specific staff members
    • When the relevant icons are enabled (at least one must be in order for the email to send) they turn blue
  • Email template – allows you to link a specific template to the notification
    • This is locked for certain notifications as the default emails contain key information
  • Delivery method – whether the notification should trigger just an email, or a timeline message (online portal/app notification) as well
